#LHD New York CITY GUIDE

New York Minute

The Webster’s Founder and CEO, Laure Heriard Dubreuil, knows a thing or two about the city that never sleeps. She just opened The Webster’s fifth luxury boutique, The Webster Soho. Not to mention, the launch of her inaugural namesake collection LHD, and The Webster Home. Needless to say, for LHD, the notion that time may be one of the greatest luxuries rings true. Here, Laure takes us on an uptown-to-downtown taxi tour of New York City—what’s new, what’s hot, and what is a must-see—in 24-hours.

Now that The Webster’s newest home, nestled in the notoriously artsy heart of SOHO at 29 Greene Street, is officially open, it’s only fitting that I too tour the chic district myself. What’s on the welcome to the neighborhood agenda? Manhattan must-stop stops starts with a stroll across Central Park to The Metropolitan Museum of Art. If you’re able to make it before the new year, I recommend paying a visit to the exhibition, Rodin at the Met! Other quintessential New York vital visits worth considering include catching a Broadway show (at the moment, Once on this Island is at the top of my list), drinks at The Carlyle’s Bemelmans Bar, and a late night indie flick (like Lady Bird) at the Angelika Film Forum. For the less institutional, and more day-to-day insidery-scenes, start with a spin class at Soul Cycle (I also suggest Ballet Beautiful or Lyons Den Power Yoga). For more health and beauty best-ofs, a triple crown facial by Joanna Vargas won’t disappoint.

Most of my days are spent between the Webster’s five boutiques, so, when I’m in the city, you can usually find me at our SOHO store. The boutique’s front facade features six floors of the most beautiful big lofty windows, and like all New Yorker’s quickly come to learn about apartment living, natural lighting is essential, but so is roof access. I can’t get enough of the store’s skyline views!

For me, fashion and art go hand-in-hand. Here, in our SOHO shoe salon, are two Concha Ybarra pieces. I was in Seville celebrating my dear friend Carlos Mota’s 50th birthday and was lucky enough to stumble upon these two pieces.

Don’t miss Toyin Ojih Odutola’s first solo show now on exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art! I also highly suggest checking-out MoMA’s Items: Is Fashion Modern?.

 Pietro Nolita’s all-pink interior

Pietro Nolita is one of my favorite outposts. It’s intimate, delicious (gluten-free pasta that’s wildly good!), and their signature Memphis pink decor—talk about icing on the cake! Other favorite vegetarian and vegan eateries include AbcV (the housemade sparkling rosewater lemonade is divine!), and Nix where there’s nothing not worth taste-testing.

A New York Favorite!

Dressing for an activity-packed day in NYC is an art form in and of itself! Find an equilibrium between functionality and fashion-forward, and you’ll be flying with the best of them in no time!

Le CouCou is my newest special occasion go-to restaurant in the city. Here, the luncheon celebration is W Magazine ’s It Girl luncheon. So fun!

Tired of the old adage, the city that never sleeps? Give it another chance—the night is young! Let a late night dinner of squash and apples accompanied by a burnished eggplant puree at Le Turtle take you to 11 Howard’s hotspot, The Blond. Still not ready to rest those dancing shoes? Simmer into the 70’s light while watching New York scenesters disco until the wee hours of dawn at the Moroccan themed nightclub, Paul’s Casablanca.

Lobster Club

The Lobster Club is up-and-running! It’s part of the Four Seasons redo, The Grill and The Pool, all within Midtown’s iconic Seagram Building. It’s another Peter Marino masterpiece complete with Jackson Pollock pieces. Fine dining to the max!
