“A little bit of imperfection is the new perfection.” Donatella Versace brings a touch of irreverance to her latest fall collection for the house – featuring a remix of classic prints, chainlink detailing, and neon accents.
Creative director Donatella Versace’s fall-winter 2019 collection was indicative of Gianni Versace’s 90s familiar grunge aesthetics. Donatella celebrated her brother’s customary designs by including black leather, high slits and bright colors. Donatella’s fall-winter collection also exhibited bondage, body con silhouettes, silk and baroque prints. The use of large safety pins were incorporated and prompted us all of Gianni Versace’s legacy.
The T-shirts created for this collection were produced in collaboration with The Richard Avedon Foundation. This privately operating foundation is based in New York City and showcases Avedon’s photographs, publications, papers, and archival materials.
Donatella Versace’s vision was a blast to the past with a modern upgrade. This sharp-witted approach to sexuality is something we can expect to see in the collections to come.
