Adaptation is a Los Angeles based brand founded in 2016, guided by the subcultures of the Californian city to showcase local creativity with various collaborations from season to season. Led by Ali Fatourechi who previously founded Genetic Denim, the designer’s current venture focuses on ready-to-wear with intricate and artisanal details that live on streetwear-inspired pieces such as embroidered sweaters, bomber jackets and of course, expertly crafted denim. Initial collections which have included projects with legendary skate footwear purveyor Vans, designer Warren Lotas, and artist Matt McCormick (to name a few), helped establish early success for the brand.
A cult-favorite among Angelenos and celebrities alike, Adaptation connects the diverse set of niches spread throughout the city of L.A. that are otherwise considered inaccessible to outsiders, culminating into a storytelling of artistry through oversized flannels and present-defining graphics that is authentic to the brand’s home base.
