Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk met while studying for their Masters at Parsons School of Design. The two shared a provocative aesthetic, and enjoyed exploring the boundary between trash and treasure. In 2013 they launched Area in New York City -- a name inspired by of New York’s most popular ‘80s nightclubs.
The designers are inspired by a range of decades including the flapper era of 1930s, 1960s color blocking mods and the eccentric Studio 54 ensembles of the 1980s. The ultra-feminine pieces have a unique street-style edge, combined with signature glimmer and shine. Hollywood it-girls flock to the fluid silhouettes and bedazzled heels, making the brand a cult favorite.
