Walter Barrie and Robert Kersel founded the Barrie knitwear mill in the Scottish Borders in 1903. The manufacturer grew popular after they begun manufacturing a two-tone style designed by Gabrielle Chanel in the 1920s. They soon became the go-to destination for prestigious fashion houses. In 2012 Chanel acquired the supplier, and the brand soon begun releasing their own designed cashmere collections.
Each style is designed in Paris, and produced in Scotland. Barrie knits utilize their timeless Scottish heritage to create sophisticated, eye-catching and traditional high quality cashmere tops. The relaxed fit and casual shapes are crafted from natural materials and interwoven with elegant textures for a modern appearance. Discover their latest women’s collection, which includes fitted sweaters and colorful cardigans.
