Founded in Paris in 1975, Bonpoint set out to become the premier destination for children’s clothing. In 2005 French designer Christine Innamorato was appointed as Cohen’s successor, and is the current creative director. Innamorato’s passion for children’s clothing stems from her role as a mother herself. Her background in womenswear informed her ability to create children’s clothing due to her unwavering attention to the fit and cut of each style. She is inspired by vintage children books and the carefree femininity of fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn and Jane Birkin.
The child-focused Bonpoint universe sees playful humor and curious magic as the groundwork for each design. Innamorato is using those conventions to create whimsical collections for boys and girls.
