Founded in 2011 in Paris, Alexandre Chapellier left his career in finance to pursue his passion for fabrics and started Cinabre, a luxury neckwear company that counts the likes of Pharell Williams, Kanye West, and President Emmanuel Macron as its clientele. The Franco-Swedish designer looked back to his family history, drawing inspiration from his great-uncle who was a renowned tailor in the Swedish town of Filipstad.
Along with this reconnection to his roots, Chapellier also forged a partnership with Haute Couture designer Michael Goma who offered valuable direction with his experience, having launched Balenciaga’s first ready-to-wear collection and spending a decade at Jean Patou Haute Couture. All Cinabre's ties and bow ties are expertly handcrafted in France by multi-generational makers.
