In 1941 Lillian Cahn was inspired by a baseball. After working with 12 artists she debuted a collection of 12 handbags that, like a baseball glove, were made from tan leather and featured excellent stitch work. The New York-based company then flourished into men’s and women’s accessories until it became a household name. In its current era, the brand is considered a leader in luxury handbags and accessories.
In 2014, Reed Krakoff stepped down after a 16 year tenure, and British designer Stuart Vevers, was named the new creative director. Vevers is breathing a youthful energy into the brand, and introduced a new mens and womens vintage-inspired ready-to-wear collection.
