Designer Emma Charles previously worked at Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, and Preen before debuting with a collection for Autumn/Winter 2016 at London Fashion Week. Hailing from North East England, Charles studied at the University of Westminster and graduated in 2014. While studying textile design, she rerouted her focus from art towards fashion. With an emphasis on modern power-dressing for women, the young designer blends feminine sophistication with elements of vintage menswear tailoring to produce ready-to-wear and accessories with clean lines while still carrying a youthful energy told through bright colors and innovative application techniques.
Her pieces are intended for those seeking balance in high and low brow with an appreciation for artful visuals, mixing masculine and feminie to result in an understated appeal.
