Paris born jeweler, Robert Goossens founded his company in the 1950s. Growing up, he became familiar with metal crafting due to his father owning a foundry. Goossens jewelry is hand crafted, and well thought out. He was recognized for his metal expertise, costume jewels, baroque style and attention to detail. Some of his clients included YSL, Balenciaga and Chanel. Robert Goossens passed away in 2016 and his son Patrick became artistic director alongside Chanel who purchased the company in 2005. When relaunching the brand Chanel president, Bruno Pavlovsky, stated that his idea was to relaunch the original story of the brand while getting the most out of the brands DNA.
Their headquarters are located in Pantin, a suburb in Paris and in 2015 they opened a storefront close by. Many of the jewelry pieces are modernized versions of Roberts’s original archives. Martine, Roberts daughter oversees the brands custom designed furniture and lighting. Goossens worked closely with interior architect Peter Marino who had ordered many mirrors, lights and scenery for his sights including Chanel boutiques.
