Italian fashion house Gucci was founded in Florence in 1921 by Guccio Gucci as a purveyor of luxury leather goods. In its nearly century-long history, the legacy brand has come to be known for decadent fabrics, and of the most recognizable logos around the world. Alessandro Michele, formerly an in-house associate designer, was appointed Creative Director in 2015 and has redefined luxury in the 21st century, further reinforcing Gucci's position as one of the world’s most desirable fashion houses.
Michele has continued to innovate Gucci’s time-honored principles, melding it with his personal idiosyncratic approach. His affinity for colliding high and low end influences is exemplified on pieces like crystal trimmed sneakers and monogrammed sweatpants, as well as reinvigorated classics like the Marmont bag and Princetown Mule.
