The Colombian born French designer Haider Ackermann has worked for design houses such as John Galliano, Dior and Martin Margiela. Most recently, he exited as creative director of the classic menswear brand, Berluti.
Haider Ackermann launched his womenswear label in 2001, and quickly became known for his masterful draping and avant-garde aesthetic. He unveiled his first menswear collection to critical acclaim, with the second collection presented two years later at the Men’s Fashion Week in Paris in July 2013. His signature draped forms and intricate design aesthetic has won a legion of dedicated followers from influential industry insiders. Although an exceptional and successful designer in his own right, he has earned the flattering compliment resembling “the new Yves Saint Laurent”.
