Lafont was born in the industrial boom of the 19th Century, established in France in 1844. Adolphe Lafont was the owner of a textile store who recognized there was a niche in the market for workwear. He is known for inventing the first pair of overalls and carpenter pants. He also developed the blue carpenter’s jacket 50 years prior to Levis.
