Sonia Petroff was nothing short of chic and full of natural elegance, her ageless designs were sure to make a statement in the late 1900s. Petroff was born in Budapest in 1933. After fleeing with her family and ending up in Argentina, it was there that Sonia discovered her passion for jewelry making. Petroff established her own brand and worked as a private jewelry designer for many major fashion brands from the early 1960s to the late 1980s.
Sonia Petroff is based in Italy and under the creative direction of Maria Leoni-Sceti. The brand consists of handmade pieces such as luxury handbags, statement earrings, unique rings and vintage style brooches. Leoni-Sceti decided to revive the company her husband’s aunt created in the early 60s. Maria has refurbished Sonia’s original archives and has lightly upgraded them to give them a modern edge while still maintaining a gaudy, 70s feel.
