Driven by making singular poignant pieces that rethink basicwear like hoodies and sweatpants, the now Zurich-based brand was founded in 2014 in Paris with Georgian-born designer Demna Gvasalia leading the line. With senior design experience at Maison Margiela and Louis Vuitton, Gvasalia and a group of anonymous designers quickly grew Vetements into the streetwear label into a red-hot cult favorite.
Fusing minimalist fashion with urban street style, the label’s menswear and womenswear lines are often interchangeable. Recognized for reconstructed, multi-wear garments and reworked sneakers, Vetements creates clothing for individualistic dressing, eschewing the idea of a curated ensemble.
