While working at the same company in Taipei, Taiwan, Yi and Yanko connected due to their same appreciation for the past and present influences in art and design. They decided to leave their jobs to launch their own design studio in 2012, with a goal of reminding others of the beautiful objects that have been long forgotten. Their simple stationery pieces such as pens, paper weights, magnets and bookmarks are inspired by the multicultural city of Taipei, where many Asian cultures coexist.
Every piece is made in local Taiwanese factories with natural materials such as brass and copper, and are supposed to stand the test of time. The artisans use a furnace at one thousand degrees to meld each piece, which only masters with decades of experience can accomplish successfully
