Born in south London, Martine Rose was surrounded by a thriving, diverse culture at an early age. She used various music, film and fashion aesthetics to debut a self-titled menswear label in 2007. First launched as just a men’s shirt brand, the label quickly gained a cult following due to its sophisticated and individualistic styles. Martine uses vibrant colors and offbeat silhouettes, such as cut-outs, huge volumes and innovative fabrics to blur the line between traditional and unconventional dressing.
By combining iconic styles from the past and present, Martine Rose creates timeless looks that are tailor-made for a contemporary audience. After the label expanded into streetwear, not only men but women were quick to wear the intellectually-charged designs. Martine Rose was part of the shortlist for the LVMH Prize 2017, and will soon be available to The Webster stores and online.
