Enfant Riches Déprimés embodies the nuanced lifestyle that founder and designer Henri Alexander Levy, experienced growing up while surrounded by affluence. Born in Atlanta, GA, the designer established his brand in 2012 after leaving art school. With early co-signs from tastemaking celebrities, the Parisian and Los Angeles based label, whose name is French is “depressed rich kids”, is a purveyor of a punk and irony through fashion, as presented on conceptual graphics—mostly illustrated by Levy himself—and embroidering on a well assorted range of knitwear, denim and one-of-a-kind leather jackets. The high-end streetwear ERD offers is a complex crossover of the nihilistic spirit of punk and elitism, releasing every style created in quantities of under 100. Along with it’s lofty price point, limited stock contributes to the exclusivity that Levy deliberately cultivates. While earlier collections focused on basics, the label has shift the balance to incorporate more cut-and-sew garments.
