Known for architectural silhouettes and provençal nostalgia, Simon Porte Jacquemus creates stories before clothes. Started in 2009 when the self-taught designer was only 19, Jacquemus (the designer’s mother’s maiden name) garnered early attention from Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe for its minimalism and connections to structure that Commes des Garçons identifies with. His creations often pay homage to his free-spirited childhood in the South of France, and his experimentation with geometrical construction has helped him gain recognition as one of the most important French designers of the decade, as well as earning him the LVMH Special Jury Prize in 2015.

Even with features like strong and stiff details on key pieces, a redefined French femininity is ever present evidence on asymmetrically wrapped shirts and dresses. Trailing on the success of Jacquemus' recent Le Souk collection, the brand presented its first menswear collection named Le Gadjo for Spring/Summer '19 .
