Born and raised in Paris to a Chinese-American mother and French father, Joseph Altuzarra was born into a cultural melting pot. His interest in art and history led him to a university in America, where he then interned at Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler. He returned to Paris only to become assistant to Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy. In 2008 he launched his brand in New York, with a focus on luxury women’s ready-to-wear pieces. He was driven by the desire to make the modern woman feel seductive and sophisticated simultaneously.
He won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2011, and was awarded the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2014. Discover his best selling pieces such as his blazers, skirts and dresses, and explore his recently launched Ghianda bags.
