Leandra Medine started her Man Repeller blog in 2010 while still studying at The New School. Shortly after its first post was published, the blog rocketed into commercial success, gaining recognition from editors across the industry both online and offline. The aesthetic that inspired her musings is sculpted by the “man-repelling” styles women tend to favor such as drop-crotch pants and exaggerated shoulders. Initially launching her first footwear line under the blog’s name, Medine rebranded the label in 2018, now called Leandra Medine.
The approach remains consistent, with a collection of her signature contemporary spin applied to classic shoe silhouettes. With the firm belief that self-expression can be meaningfully conveyed through style, the New York City born designer isn’t one to shy away from elements of surprise when to comes to her creations. From ruffled mules to floral paisley boots, Medine’s shoes make eclectic statements, true to her personal brand.
