A former stylist at British Vogue, Pippa Holt launched her eponymous line of kaftans in 2016 after discovering her love for the garment that helped her weather the searing hot climate of Texas. All handmade by expert weavers, led by headweaver Felipa, her daughter Angela and a group of artisans, the brand supports a remote Oaxacan community who aids Holt in producing pieces the designer heralds as “holiday heroes”.
A staple getaway piece, the kaftans are one-off creations with none being identical to another. All natural dyes are used to produce the colors of each kaftan and sourced locally near the community. Following age-old traditions, each piece is made with an ancient weaving technique using a backstrap loom and takes one month to complete. The resulting product is a versatile and transitional kaftan that pleases everywhere whether for day or night.
