PROENZA SCHOULER

Design duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez founded their modern luxury label Proenza Schouler in 2002, debuting with the collaborative collection for their senior thesis at Parson’s School of Design. The New York City bred brand is named after an amalgam of the two designers’ mothers’ maiden names, and has earned a long list of prestigious accolades, including five CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund prizes; among these are the renowned Womenswear Designer of the Year award in 2007, 2011, and 2013.

Drawing inspiration from contemporary art and youth culture, the pair produces slick collections of urban tailoring with exquisite technical skills as well as a much-coveted accessories line for the edgy and upscale which began with the PS1 bag, introduced in 2008. Recent collections have showcased the rise of the duo’s thriving footwear category, featuring signature mirrored heels and custom fabrication, while ready-to-wear stays committed to dressing the it-set of downtown sophisticates.
